In 2020, myself and two colleagues embarked on developing our poetry curriculum within our English provision.
And, it all begun with asking our teachers the question: 'Are you confident at teaching poetry?' More than 75% of our teachers responded no.
So, with that statistic in mind and the feeling that our current approach to teaching poetry was some-what outdated, the poetry project begun, that transformed the 'what' and 'how' we taught poetry in our school.
